Many people in North America are still suffering from the effects of last year’s financial crisis. Some have had their retirement savings drastically affected by these events. Some have been struggling to hang on to their homes, or to find work. This Tapping Script is for you or for people you know who are in this position. Please also answer these questions and include the answers in your tapping sequence as described at the end of this article. Repeat each sentence below 3 times as you tap the karate chop side of your hand (edge of palm on the pinky side).
- Even though this economy is terrible, I accept myself anyway.
- Even though life is a struggle right now, I accept myself.
- Even though I feel like things will not improve soon enough to help my own situation, I accept myself, anyway. I’m doing the best I can.
- Even though things will probably get worse before they get better, I accept myself. I choose to be optimistic that things will turn around.
- Even though this economy is in the tank because of the greed of financial corporations, I accept myself.
- Even though these guys are paying themselves nice bonuses, while I struggle to keep my head above water, I accept myself.
- Even though the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, I accept myself.
- Even though life isn’t fair, I accept myself.
- Even though I am angry about this situation, I accept myself anyway.
- Even though my savings are not worth what they used to be, I accept myself.
- Even though the stock market is down, I accept myself.
- Even though the price of things is going up while my income is going down, I accept myself.
- Even though I don’t understand economics or why I have less in my pocket than I did a year ago, I accept myself, anyway.
- Even though I feel pessimistic right now about the future of the economy, I accept myself. I am doing the best that I can under difficult circumstances.
Now think of three more things that cause you stress about your own financial situation. Write them down.
Take your three sentences and pop them into these phrases, remembering to tap the side of your hand as you say each phrase aloud:
- Even though [sentence #1], I accept myself.
- Even though [sentence #2], I accept myself.
- Even though [sentence #3], I accept myself. I choose to make the best decisions for my own situation.
Repeat each sentence 3 times as you tap the karate chop side of your hand. Then do a round of tapping or two starting at the top of the head. Tap the inner eyebrow areas, outer eyebrow , under eye, under nose, under lips, under collar bone, and under the arm (on the torso, where a woman’s bra strap would be). Repeat until you feel a sense of calmness. (It should not take more than 4 rounds to get results.)
